Infrared Sauna

Why is Infrared Sauna so good for You?

As opposed to steam saunas, which heat the body with a moist heat, infrared works by heating the body directly with dry heat.
While infrared penetrates and heats our body and causes us to sweat, the composition of chemicals found in the sweat is quite different from that produced by a steam bath, steam sauna or exercise. The sweat of people using an infrared sauna will not only contain water but will also contain cholesterol, fat-soluble toxins, heavy metals, nicotine, sulfuric acid, ammonia, and other undesirable elements. Normal sweat produced by other methods, including exercise, is mostly water and sodium chloride (salt).
The deep heat helps peripheral blood vessels dilate, bringing relief and healing to muscle and soft tissue injuries, reducing also inflammation. The increased blood circulation carries off metabolic waste products and delivers oxygen-rich blood to oxygen-depleted muscle, so they recover faster. The heat helps to reduce soreness on nerve endings and muscle spasms as muscle joints and fibres are heated. Muscles relax most readily when tissues are warm, for greater flexibility and range of motion.
Infrared Sauna can help You switch out of the relentless fight or flight mode and ground down to a calmer mental and physical state. In addition, it can unlock a deeper, longer sleep, for a healthier, longer life.

Health Professionals have been using infrared technology for years. Have You ever gone to a Physiotherapist with a sprain and they put a red heat lamp on it? That’s infrared. Infrared treatment is also widely used in burn units to accelerate healing and hospital baby care incubators. The heat You will feel in the sauna is a mixture of near and far infrared lights. Both near and far infrared light are invisible waves that penetrate deep into our body leading to the heat we feel, and deep sweat.

Near infrared has an incredible healing effect on the cells, increases energy production, modulates inflammation, relieves pain and helps our cells regenerate faster.

Far infrared light increases our circulation pumping oxygen rich blood around body leading to a better night’s sleep, greater levels of relaxation, while bringing down muscle tension and aches and pains in the body.

One Infrared sauna session is 50 minutes.

The regular use of an infrared sauna has a cumulative effect on the body, meaning that using it on a regular basis magnifies its benefits. It is safe to use it as often as You like.

Please do not use the sauna if You are pregnant. If You have a chronic illness we recommend seeking medical clearance before participating. We suggest refraining from drinking alcohol prior to Your session.

Please bring a towel to sit on and also a towel to wipe down Your body after the sauna session. As for clothes – less is best, so it is recommended you change into swimwear or underwear as You want the skin to be exposed as much as possible for the body to reap the amazing benefits of the infrared rays. Please note we do not have shower facilities.

Always drink plenty of water before, during and after Your Sauna session. There is water and glasses in the sauna room.

You can connect Your phone to the Bluetooth in the sauna and listen to Your music or podcasts or You can read one of your books or a book we have for You in the sauna room.

There is a detailed Guide on how to use the sauna in the sauna room, but don’t worry, the sauna system is really user friendly!

Colour has been used for healing since ancient times to balance and harmonise the mind, body and spirit. Use our sauna’s LED colour module to flood your sauna in the colour of your choice.

Red balances the circadian rhythm and tells the body it’s time to relax. The frequency of red light is the last light we see in nature when the sun sets, signaling that it’s time to find shelter and bed-down for the night. Red light promotes the production of the sleep hormone melatonin. Orange or yellow are both associated with benefits for those suffering from inflammatory symptoms.Yellow is associated with aiding muscles that have atrophy. Please refer to the catalogue in the Sauna room for more info on colour therapy.

The sauna can seat up to 3 people. Once You have booked the sauna, it is Yours to enjoy – whether You want to have it all for Yourself or share the experience with friends or family. Please refer to the different pass types in the app.
