Pilates & strength-based classes in Oatley – The Sculpt Series

At Addicted to Pilates in Oatley, many of our Members fall in love with that familiar Pilates feeling – the shake, the burn, and the moment when You realise Your body is stronger than You thought.

Pilates builds incredible core strength, stability and control. But sometimes it’s also nice to mix things up and challenge the body in a slightly different way.

That’s exactly why we’re excited to introduce our new Sculpt Series.

These classes combine the precision and control of Pilates with strength-focused exercises using props such as dumbbells, resistance bands and other small equipment to help build strength and muscular endurance.

If You love Pilates but aren’t particularly drawn to the gym environment, Sculpt offers a way to add strength training while staying in the welcoming space of Your Pilates studio.

WHAT IS THE SCULPT SERIES?

The Sculpt Series is a strength-based mat class designed to challenge Your muscles while still staying true to Pilates principles. While traditional Pilates focuses on core stability, alignment and controlled movement, Sculpt classes introduce more resistance and targeted muscle work to help strengthen and tone different areas of the body. You can expect:

• Dumbbells and resistance bands
• Pilates props to increase resistance and challenge
• Strength-focused exercises for different muscle groups
• Tempo work and muscular endurance training
• That satisfying Pilates-style burn

Our Instructors guide You through each movement with a strong focus on technique and alignment, ensuring Members can work safely and effectively while building strength.

A GREAT COMPLEMENT TO YOUR PILATES PRACTICE

The Sculpt Series was designed to complement Your existing Pilates routine. Pilates already builds excellent core strength, control and stability. Sculpt adds another layer by introducing more resistance and strength-based exercises, helping to challenge the muscles in a different way. This combination can help build stronger glutes, legs, arms and core while still maintaining the alignment and movement quality Pilates is known for. Many Members enjoy combining different styles of classes throughout the week to create a balanced approach to movement. For example, You might include:

• Reformer Pilates for full-body strength and conditioning
• Mat Pilates for control and core work
• Yoga or Barre for flexibility and balance
• Sculpt classes for targeted strength and muscular endurance

Together, these classes help build a body that feels strong, supported and energised.

SCULPT: GLUTES & LEGS

One of the Sculpt classes focuses on the lower body. Sculpt: Glutes & Legs is designed to strengthen and activate the muscles of the glutes, quads, hamstrings and hips. Using props such as resistance bands and dumbbells, this class targets the lower body with exercises that challenge strength and muscular endurance. You can expect movements such as:

• Squats and sumo squats
• Glute activation exercises
• Lower body strengthening work
• Controlled tempo movements that challenge the muscles

This class delivers a serious lower body burn while still keeping the focus on alignment and quality of movement.

SCULPT: ABS & ARMS

Another class in the series is Sculpt: Abs & Arms. This class focuses on strengthening the core and upper body, including the abdominals, shoulders, arms and upper back. Using props such as dumbbells and resistance bands, You will work through exercises that challenge both stability and strength while maintaining the control that Pilates is known for. Expect exercises such as:

• Core strengthening work
• Arm and shoulder exercises
• Upper body resistance training
• Controlled movements that build muscular endurance

It’s a great class for anyone looking to strengthen the core and upper body while still enjoying the Pilates style of movement.

STRENGTH TRAINING WITHOUT THE GYM

For many people, the idea of lifting weights in a gym can feel intimidating or simply not very appealing. The Sculpt Series offers a different experience. You will still challenge Your muscles and build strength, but You will do it in the warm, supportive environment of our boutique Pilates studio in Oatley, guided by Instructors who understand the Pilates approach to movement.

It’s strength training – the Pilates way.
